Malibu Goes to the Polls

BY SUZANNE GULDIMANN

After a campaign season that has been described as so low key as to be almost non-existent, Malibu residents who have not already voted by absentee ballot will head to the polls on Tuesday to elect three city council members.
Polls are open from 7 am to 8 pm on Election Day, April 10. Each resident’s polling place is printed on the back of their sample ballot.
Ballots will be counted at City Hall in the Council Chambers beginning at 8:01 p.m.
Vote by Mail ballots will be processed—opened, reviewed, duplicated if necessary—by the Vote By Mail Processing and Inspection Board beginning at 2 p.m. on Election Day in the Surfrider Room at City Hall.
According to the city website, at the close of the polls at 8 p.m., the VBMs will go into the counting machine. Ballots from the seven precincts will proceed through the Processing and Inspection Board as they are brought to City Hall.
City Hall is the central counting location and is open to the public. Results will be posted at City Hall, and on the city website: www.malibucity.org, on the city’s Twitter and Facebook pages and on Channel 3.
